Dear Needlepointers,
Hurricane Irma has worried many of us who have family and friends in Florida. My father and my sister live in the Tampa area, so I was much relieved when Irma turned inland. I have talked with my sister and everyone is safe and houses are undamaged. Also, Minnesota ANG member Alissa R, who lives in Boca Raton, is safe and survived Irma.
After the stressful weekend, Denise’s talk on Ottoman Embroidery was welcome. I learned a lot (and took notes). Now I am anticipating the class and stitching Denise’s designs. Also, I now know that tulips are originally from Turkey not Holland. If you missed Denise’s talk, ask someone about the tick triad. Thank you
Denise for the informative talk. Now I will put on my State Fair hat and thank all who volunteered and demonstrated at our booth in Creative Activities. Thank you Vicki E, Sylvia M, Mary L, Jane T, Jeanne Ç, Laura E, and Sara G. I know you had lots of fun stitching with friends and talking to fair visitors. Your enthusiasm
for ANG (and the other guilds) and willingness to participate in outreach is greatly appreciated. Vicki E desired double thanks for volunteering both Monday and Wednesday.
Now is the time when I think about what (and if) I’ll stitch for holiday presents. I always have grandiose plans. Perhaps I should start with what I failed to finish last year.
I wish you all a wonderful refreshing autumn. Happy Stitching!
