ANG Weekend Seminar – May 5 - 7, 2012

Minnetonka Community Center

Lois Kershner will be our visiting National Teacher for the weekend of May 5 & 6. The title of the piece to be taught is "Monet's Garden."

If you have been at some of the meetings this last year, you will have seen Marlene D.'s finished version, which she took at seminar a couple of years ago. It is Lois' interpretation of the famous painting of the gardens at Giverney, with a view of the bridge and the garden around it.

On Friday, May 4th, we will be holding a potluck at Janet W.'s house which will be open to lots of familiar faces at the class!!

On Monday, May 7th at the regular Monday meeting Lois will lecture on "Achieving Perspective in Needlepoint". It will be held at Byerly's Community Room at 10 AM and is open to all members, free of charge.

In addition to having class May 5th and 6th, the Minnesota Chapter ANG is hosting a stitch-in for members not in the class. The stitch-in will be held at the Minnetonka Community Center in the Gray's Bay Room (located next to the Shady Oak Room). The room will be open from 8 AM till 4 PM and stitching is free for any guild member who chooses to participate. Please plan on attending and enjoying some friendly conversation and stitching with fellow Guild members.  Bring a sack lunch since food is not provided.

Registration Deadline:  February 15, 2012

Coming Attractions in GCC

“The Golden Phoenix” by Dorothy Lesher has been selected and will be started in February of 2012.  GCC meetings will most likely be held on the Saturday Group meeting days (specific dates and times TBD). The details of this project are in the 2010-2012 Education Catalog on page 17, or http://www.needlepoint.org/CorrClasses/classes/phoenix.php.

We are planning to start another GCC at the 2012 ANG weekend and if you have any preferences for our choice of the class, please contact Jo Ann K.
